What is mixing ?
Mixing is the art of balancing and blending multiple audio tracks to create a cohesive full song. The process goes through adjusting volumes, panning, equalization or also dynamics of each instruments and effects to achieve clarity, depth and impactful emotional resonance in the final mix. It’s the magic touch that transforms raw ideas into a final song.
What is Mastering ?
Mastering is the final, essential step in the audio production process of a song. Its purpose is to enhance the sonic qualities of a mix to achieve professional-grade sound.Through careful application of equalization, compression and other specialized tools, mastering elevates the mix to its full potential ensuring consistency and clarity across all playback systems. It’s the final polish for your song to shine.
Who am I and What do I do ?
I am a professional freelance mix and mastering engineer, producer, music composer and sound designer based in Montréal, Québec. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Music from Université de Montréal.
I quickly developed an interest in mixing and mastering skills and strive to bring out the best in the sound material I am given. Whether it’s creating a scary atmosphere for a horror movie or a dreamy vibe for a retrowave synth pad, I aim to tell a compelling story through sound.
My sound universe encompasses various genres, including metal, rock, 80’s retro, and ambient/abstract music.
Since 2018, I have been the creator of a full-length project under the name She Died in a Parking Lot, exploring all these music genres as a guitarist and singer.
